PROFILE OF THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE
ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT:
The Department of Commerce ofthis college was started at the time of the inception of the college in 2008 at Yerraguntla village, Sirivella Mandal. The present campus was inaugurated by the then Honourable Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy Garu in the year 15th September, 2008.There is no private degree college within radius of 25 KMs from Yerraguntla, it offers various Commerce courses to rural people around Sirivel and Yerraguntla. This college was affiliated to Rayalaseema University, Kurnool. The students of corners of Yerraguntla village studying B.Com in this college. From 2013-14 onwards B.Com (Computer Application) started as self-funding course along with B.Com General. But later B.Com General lost its popularity and forced toclose in the year 2023-2024. At present, only B.Com (Computer Application) is continuing in the college.
The Main Objective of the Department is to impart knowledge and skill in commercial and business related courses and provide exposure to business decision making skills. It is important to develop positive attitude and values, so as to strengthen the personality traits of the students.

Highlights of the Department:
· The Department has been conducting Tally ERP 9 for the last 3 years, every year at free of cost.
· The department of commerce has well equipped Computer Lab to cater the needs of Computer Application students.
· The staff is engaging in the extension activities like NSS, JKC etc. and serving in many college committees as convener like Consumer club committee, IQAC committee, Alumni committee etc.
· The department organized student seminars, quiz, and field trips regularly to enhance the skills of the students.
· Using effective ICT teaching and learning methods like Power Pointpresentations, You tube videos and virtual labs for easy learning.
· Guidance is given for the preparation of PG andB.Ed entrance exams.
· Encouraging best performing students of I, II and III year by giving away prizes every academic year onConsumer Day.
